Static shifter paddles

Hello, I'm new on sim racing and I have a newbie question:

What is the advantage of the static shifter paddles vs the shifter paddles included on the wheels ?

    they obviously dont move so its easier for some racing disciplines like Rally.

    You can allow the wheel to fully rotate and you will always know where the left and right paddles are.


    Try using paddle shifters with 900-1080 degrees of rotation...you will get lost at times and pull the wrong paddle.
