RaceRoom (PC) - Fanatec Recommended Settings

General Notes:
- For the Podium Series settings, it is assumed that the Torque Key is being used.
- Automatic wheel range adjustment in RaceRoom can only be achieved when SEN is set to Auto (AUT) and you have enabled 'Match Setup' in Vehicle Settings>Steering Animation. It is important to set the SEN value to 'Auto' BEFORE you start a session. Note that the wheel will only rotate correctly through the first 360 degrees of the wheel range if you have driver arms enabled (but the true wheel range will still be functional). If you set Driver Animation to 'Wheel Only', then the wheel will display correctly through the full wheel range.
- The resulting output from these baseline settings is conservative when using the default 'per car' Steering Settings. The strength varies significantly by vehicle, therefore it is worth checking the in-game Clipping Meter, and adjusting the FFB Multiplier value accordingly. In doing so you can maximise the dynamic range of the FFB but lose some of the feeling of variety between car types.

- The settings below are considered to be reasonable baseline values for RaceRoom (PC). They might not suit all tastes and driving styles, but they are a good starting point. Bear in mind that RaceRoom uses a dynamic physics engine covering a broad range of cars and tracks, meaning that these settings might not be 'optimal' for every possible driving scenario.
-
In order to apply the suggested settings correctly, it is important to
assign both the Tuning Menu values AND the suggested In-Game settings
together.

The strength varies significantly by vehicle, therefore it is worth checking the in-game Clipping Meter, and adjusting the FFB Multiplier value accordingly. In doing so you can maximise the dynamic range of the FFB but lose some of the feeling of variety between car types.
- Please ensure you are using the latest firmware for all Fanatec devices.

But I also edited the wheel profile file from Documents\My Games\SimBin\RaceRoom Racing Experience\UserData\ControlSet\filename.rcs
I changed these values:
FFB steer force rear grip exponent="0.5"
FFB steer force balance mode="0"
I posted this on sector 3 forums a few days ago.
Edit steering_wheels.xml
Add in:
<key type="uint32">462519</key> <!-- FANATEC Podium Wheel Base DD2-->
<value>
<vendorSpecificRangeLock type="bool">true</vendorSpecificRangeLock>
<minWheelRange type="uint32">90</minWheelRange>
<maxWheelRange type="uint32">1080</maxWheelRange>
<alwaysCreateEffects type="bool">true</alwaysCreateEffects>
<supportsSpringEffect type="bool">true</supportsSpringEffect>
<supportsDamperEffect type="bool">true</supportsDamperEffect>
</value>
Not sure if the key will be the same (462519) for DD1 and DD2's but if not, go into your RCS controller file
Documents\My Games\SimBin\RaceRoom Racing Experience\UserData\ControlSet\YourFilehere.rcs
Grab the ID from here:
DeviceName[00]="FANATEC Podium Wheel Base DDx"
DeviceId[00]="(462519, -1, -1, 0)"
And change it in the steering_wheels.xml
It will then automatically change DOR based on the vehicle, when set to auto " />
I did set FFB stationary friction="0.0" but that only affects when stopped, it felt too notchy to me.
Here's my rcs file:

Also, are you using RaceRoom with VR as well?
It also seems to be a fairly recent thing, I don't recall feeling such previously. I am using Fanalab and the latest drivers.
